When Maimuna meets Suleimani she is undergoing a rough patch in life as her father Yusufu has been retrenched, the family’s income is dwindling. Despite the fact that Suleimani has been born in a poor family he is focused and determined to succeed in life, he is intending to start his own coconut wine making company using his own formula.

Suleimani decides to go and meet Maimuna’s parents to inform them of their engagement. Upon reaching there he meets Yusufu and his sister Leila. Leila asks him what he does for living. Suleimani explains that he sells coconut milk. Yusufu gets angry and chases him away telling him to go and look for love in the beach among the other beach boys. Maimuna’s love to Suleimani continues to grow despite family’s disapproval of Suleimani. When Maimuna is admitted in Accounts College Suleimani works hard and pays for her fees.

Upon Maimuna’s graduation from Accounts college, Leila forces to go with her to Nairobi to work in her soap making company. Leila owns the company in partnership with Sammy. Suleimani tries to talk to her not to go to Nairobi as he is making more money than what she will be paid by Leila. Maimuna is torn what to do but finally
Leila wins and she is forced to go to Nairobi. Maimuna is afraid that once she leaves for Nairobi Suleimani will get another girl and forget about her. She confides her worries to Rehema her friend. Her friend tells her that there is a baobab tree under which any vow made will remain forever. When Maimuna tells Suleimani she wants
them to go and make a vow under that Baobab tree Suleimani says that his love is unconditional with or without the oath. Upon Maimuna’s insistence he agrees and they make an oath under the Baobab tree that they will love each other till eternity.

Maimuna travels to Nairobi and Suleimani keeps the love burning. Suleimani’s business expands and he starts saving for his wedding with Maimuna and capital for his company. Leila forces Maimuna to marry Sammy her business partner. When Maimuna refuses Leila threatens to terminate her employment. With time Maimuna stops communicating with Suleimani, who on his part is optimistic that things will workout well and they will be together forever. Leila gives Maimuna money to refund the fees Suleimani paid.

Suleimani’s friend tells him that he has heard rumours on the streets to do with Maimuna. Said doesn’t have the courage to tell him, so Suleimani decides to go to Maimuna’s home. Upon arrival he finds Maimuna in preparation for a wedding with Sammy. Suleimani is chased away by women who are decorating Maimuna for the wedding. Suleimani is confused and walks away in a drunken stupor. Suleimani is knocked down by a car and dies. Suleimani’s ghost comes back to fulfil the “till death” oath which they made. Sammy and Maimuna don’t consummate their marriage as Suleimani’s ghost keeps on hounding them. Their parents get involved in helping them get a solution. They visit several witchdoctors until they find a Shaman who is able to break the oath Maimuna and Suleimani took. Maimuna is able to find peace in her marriage to Sammy.
