For years I toyed with story idea about sexual abuse especially in schools. The challenge I had was what will be the unique angle. What will be different from all other films made on the same subject. One day as we chat with a friend (a writer rarely chats…. they seek story!!) she tells me of a teacher friend fighting a rape case. Though my story and that story are totally different but that chat spurs an imagination…. an imagination which doesn’t fade, continues to haunt me as I sleep, walk, eat… So here I am thinking, what is the angle? It pains me I cant find antagonist, protagonist and the goal. Some ideas take years revolving in my mind. Ideas can take as many years as they wish spinning in my mind but unless I have antagonist, protagonist and the goal I have NO STORY. This story idea haunted, held me a captive, tortured me to the core; then one day bum… a girl who wants to excel in maths. When it rains it pours…. The rapist male teacher is the best in teaching mathematics so they are joined as siamese twins. the rest is MY STORY!!
